Cultures in Dialogue
Cultures in Dialogue is a photo and video installation developed as part of a Master’s thesis by the artist Ludmila Nawrotzki. The project explores how objects can carry stories about identity, culture, and human encounters within a globalized society.
The work challenges the common assumption that nationality defines identity. In that project nationality is understood as only one fragment of a much larger and more complex whole. Identity is shaped by lived experience, by memories, environments, relationships, and personal journeys.
Through a series of artistic photographs and a video installation, personal objects were placed in dialogue with one another. These objects act as witnesses of individual histories and cultural backgrounds. Within the installation space, they create a multicultural environment that reflects the diversity of society and invites viewers to look beyond simplified categories toward the depth and individuality of each story.
