GREG HANNAN
Figures in flux
Greg Hannan is a British painter. His work orbits the human figure with elements of surrealism and abstraction fuelling explorations that return to that subject with fresh discoveries. He works primarily in acrylic paint, mixing in other media, often spurred by the irrepressible urge to draw with something that resembles a stick.
He grew up in England on the Kentish coast in Folkestone and lived a decade in London, where he studied at Camberwell, but quit halfway. Now based in Lisbon, where the coast sometimes reminds him of home.
