Apesar de tudo - On Friendship is an invitation to write friendship letters as a radical soft political act. Rather than treating friendship as a private relationship, it reimagines it as a practice of care, solidarity, and mutual responsibility. The act of writing a letter to a friend becomes a way of resisting isolation and creating spaces for honest dialog. Through correspondence, friendship is transformed into a deliberate civic practice, one that nurtures trust, sustains communities and imagines different ways of living together. In this sense, the friendship letter is not only personal communication, but also a meaningful intervention in the social and political fabric of everyday life

The proximity performance with Artist Batu Behram is an independent intervention that is not bound to time or a specific location. Emerging from relationships formed during the previous summer residency, the work revisits moments of friendship and collaboration that continue to resonate within the neighbourhood. Moving through familiar and everyday spaces, the artist returns to sites of encounter and shared memory, activating traces of past exchanges through sound, presence, and subtle gestures of reconnection. Fragments of earlier processes reappear and circulate, creating temporary situations of listening, recognition, and renewed proximity between artist, place, and community.

An interactive workshop inviting participants to explore memory, perception and communication through scent. Can you recognise the smell of cinnamon, lavender, or mint? Through playful experimentation with different ingredients, participants create their own “message in a bottle,” translating feelings, memories, or ideas into a personal fragrance. The workshop approaches smell as a shared language that connects people beyond words. By exchanging scents and experiences, participants reflect on how sensory encounters can carry messages, evoke connection, and create new forms of communication within a collective environment.

Artist Workshop with Oiza & Fernando Benegas Martínez - SOUND PLAYZGROUND: A COLLECTIVE PRACTICE

As part of Friendship & Collaboration for play(the)ground, artist Oiza Bucknor invites children to explore music as a shared space for listening, experimenting and creating together. Using accessible, self-made instruments, a loop station, our voices and self-created texts, participants discover how a song is built layer by layer, from rhythm and melody to collective soundscapes. Each contribution becomes part of a collectively made composition. Through this creative process, friendship is practiced through collaboration: listening becomes a shared act and individual ideas merge into something greater than what any one person could create alone. The workshop is supported by musician and musicologist Fernando Benegas Martínez, whose live guitar accompaniment enriches the collective process and helps create an open environment in which children can compose, improvise and imagine together.
All activities are free of charge and materials are included.
